Kids Numbers:
At the daycare, the kid’s number has been high and low—it kind of hard to plan the day out when you don’t have the kids. The teacher can have ten kids themselves, and the helper can have five themselves. Then the kid’s numbers are low. We don’t need to have the helpers in, so it’s all up to the teachers. We never no the number of kids going to be there, so there is always a helper on call.
Distance learning:
We also had to adjust to the distance learning with the kids. With long-distance learning, we had to change some of what we do with homework to help the kids absorb more than just looking at it and moving on from it. We also want to help out the families they already have plenty the worry about one less thing that they don’t have to do. Some of our kids are doing one and one zoom meeting with the teacher at different times. We had to figure out how to get some computer to help because the kids cant brings their parent’s computers. Seen we are in the school; we were able to ask the tech guy at the school to hook us up with some.
Overall view of the week:
We, as a daycare, are starting to get the following things. I would say the hardest thing was to adjust to the new kids learning what works for them and how they will react to certain situations. We had to bean the rules a little to let those kid live a bit like the kids were not allowed to play tag because they involved the kids touching each other, but the kids would play it. We just let them play it instead of them getting in trouble for it. It is the new normal we have to figure out what works for us and what also let the kids have fun still.
